My approach to Therapy
*** Now offering in person care in Camas, Washington
I know firsthand the vulnerability and courage it takes to be in the position of client and respect your choice to invest in the process of change.
I bring over a decade of experience as a psychotherapist, specializing in working with adult individuals and couples to navigate mood or behavioral concerns, relationship issues, ADHD concerns, life transitions, burnout, and/or trauma.
I enjoy working with clients who wish to see lasting change through engaging the stories and systems underlying their identified focus for care.
In 2012 I received my Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) degree while playing Division 1 soccer. In 2015 I completed my Masters of Social Work (MSW). I am a licensed as a Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW & LCSW) and can see clients residing in Washington state and North Dakota.
I have additional post graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Couples Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My work draws from theories including Attachment & Systems theory, Mindfulness & Self Compassion, Interpersonal Neurobiology. I generally use a range of treatment approaches with clients based on their identified goals and resources.
Prior to beginning my career as a therapist, I worked as a licensed social worker in medical, school, and sport based settings with children, adolescents, and adults. My husband of almost 15 years and three school age children keep me honest and open to continued growth in my professional and personal life. I continue to remain active and passionate as an athlete in competitive sports and as a volunteer and coach in competitive youth soccer.
I am a neurodivergent-affirming provider. This means I am aware of the unique needs and challenges of the neurodivergent individual including those with attention, sensory, or executive functioning related needs and incorporate those into care.
We will spend time in our first 1-3 sessions to focus on processing fit, determining your treatment goals and agreeing on a plan for your care.
Every provider is different. I encourage you to consult with multiple providers to determine the style and fit that is best for you.
